Here are some of the things I’ve been wearing to work.
Priddy knit pants
I got these pants from a Golden Tote and they are so comfortable I want to live in them. I paired them with a fitted tee and a long grey cardigan.
wide leg pants
These are from Anthropologie and I paired them with heels since they are so long and a chambray shirt.
stitch fix top
The top was from stitch fix and I paired it with a white jacket and cuffed jeans with platform sandals.
orange top
I got this top from Piperlime and I really love the color. I paired it with this jacket in the air conditioned office. THML Sunny Embroidery Top – $29.97 final sale
with jacketGolden Tote Dress with JacketGolden Tote Dress without Jacket
I really love this dress from Golden Tote. I love it so much I decided to order a second tote this month so I could get the Blue version of this swing dress.
Golden Tote Surprise Dress
This was one of the Golden Tote surprise dresses and I really like it with this lightweight military style jacket and a simple bracelet and earrings. It’s a good summer to fall transitional piece.
I had thought the tobacco color would be more mustard as it looked in the catalog and online, but in person it was much more brown. I still really liked the patterns and colors though so I’m keeping both.
I love the blue shade of this top and the overall fit. It will be good for work in the fall.
I had a 20% off coupon when I bought these but that sale is over. It looks like the current deal is $45 of when you spend $200, $30 when you spend $150, or $15 when you spend $75.
I’ve been wearing a lot of dresses this week to work and got a chance to wear two of my new favorite Boden dresses. Both of the Boden dresses are currently on clearance and stocks are dwindling, but I highly recommend both.
I got this dress in the Blue Riviera pattern and I just love the fit. The pattern is super cute in person and the dress is soft and flowy. Perfect for a summer day with a cardigan thrown over it for the office.
I love this dress too. It is made of a nice jersey fabric and it has pockets! I loved having pockets in a dress but it is pretty rare. I paired it with an old stitch fix necklace.
41 Hawthorn Stitch Fix Wrap Dress
I’ve worn this dress before, but I just love the soft jersey fabric and the length. Perfect for work!
I had recently decided to try one of the snack subscription boxes and Urthbox seemed like an interesting one to me. You can choose from 3 sized boxes (small 7-10 products, medium 12-15, or large 20-24) then you can select the type of box (Classic, Vegan, Gluten Free, or Diet) and the length of time you’d like to commit to. I chose the Classic medium box for 3 months.
Here’s what came in July for my first box.
Energy Snacks
I am not sure why they included these two products. One was an energy drink that had organic ingredients, and the other was what my husband referred to as “trucker candy” that you see in truck stops. Just because there are organic ingredients doesn’t mean something is good for you. I cut caffeine out of my diet a while back for health reasons and would not ever ingest either of these products so in the trash they went.
Various crunchy snacks
I’m excited about the snap peas, the baked chips and the popcorn. Last night I tried the roasted seaweed (disgusting!), the seaweed chips (also disgusting!) and the beet chips (didn’t disappoint with disgusting) and promptly threw all three of those in the trash. I can’t stand the smell of seaweed, because it reminds me of the disgusting stuff you see washed up on the beach. It tasted like it smelled.
The thai coconut curry popcorn was interesting. Not something I’d purchase again, but interesting.
Drinks
Then there were these drink items. I tried the Mama Chia squeeze pouch last night to wash away the taste of all the seaweed and beets, and it was pretty good. I’ve been on a chia seed kick lately so I liked that one. I might have the protein smoothie mix for breakfast some day. I’m not sure about the small packet of drink mix because it was loaded with chemicals. Again, yes it had some organic ingredients, but it was loaded with a ton of weird stuff too and I just don’t need all those excess ingredients. I’m trying to eat more “real” foods.
Cookies and bar
I’m not sure about the “nutrition bar” but I’ll give it a try, and the vanilla cookies were pretty good. I can get excited about cookies.
So overall, there were 14 snacks; 2 that I threw away right out of the box, 4 that were disgusting, 2 that were okay, and 6 more to try. Since I got a good deal on Gilt I don’t mind, but I’m not sure I’d pay full price for this subscription. We’ll see what August and September bring.
I’ve been wearing a ton of dresses to work lately and decided to do a post with links to some of them since there are a lot of summer sales going on right now.
New York and Company
Floral Dress – New York and Company
I bought this dress back in the spring and it sold out quickly, but I love the pattern and fit. The shoes are new and currently on clearance at Naturalizer.
And finally, I wore the dress from my last Golden Tote when we were going out to dinner on vacation last weekend. It was one of the surprise items, and I ended up liking it better than the dress I had picked.
Here are some of the things I’ve been wearing in June.
Tie Dye Maxi Skirt
I got this Maxi Skirt on sale at Kohls and paired it with my usual jean jacket and some comfortable sandals. The boho necklace is from Ann Taylor Loft.
Blue Skirt and Tee
The Blue Skirt and graphic tee are from Ann Taylor Loft, the necklace from Kohls, and the shoes are Nine West.
Circle Skirt
The knit circle skirt is from Ann Taylor Loft, and I have it in 4 colors. It’s incredibly comfortable and easy to pull on when the weather warms up as an alternative to shorts. I wear them both to work and on the weekend. Here I paired it with a sweater from Ann Taylor Loft and a scarf from London.
The striped blouse was from Stitch Fix, and the cardigan from Piperlime.
Maxi Dress and Pink Bag
The Maxi dress is from Target, and the bag is Kate Spade. I paired it with my favorite jean jacket.
Stitch Fix top and Blazer
The top and necklace are from stitch fix. I paired it with a white linen blazer I got from Nordstrom last summer.
Golden Tote Striped Dress
In an attempt to mask the poorly placed gathering on this dress I wore the belt a little lower, but you can still tell it gives me a weird shape. Once again, my jean jacket. (I realized from these pictures that I’ve been wearing it a ton.)
A-Line Skirt and Cardigan
I find that this silhouette works really well for my shape. The A-line pulls away from my hips and gives me a nice straight shape. The skirt is from Boden and the cardigan is from Old Navy.
