My September stitch fix arrived yesterday, and once again I’m disappointed. Here was the note to my stylist.
Annnnd here’s what I got:
I see some color, but mostly dull grey and drab olive. And what is that thing on the bottom, a blanket??
RD Style – lana Twisted Seam Sweater $68
Dull, boxy fit and just sort of sticks out at my mid-section.
Return.
41Hawthorn – Lisbon Stud Detail Blouse $58
Yes it’s an olive color, but the fabric feels itchy and artificial and I didn’t really ask for a blouse. I don’t see myself wearing this because of the itchy fabric.
Returned
Market and Spruce – Alexi Dress $74
The color and fabric are nice, and that’s all it has going for it. The waist was loose and big and the arm holes were uneven and way too big. My bra was completely showing on one side.
Returned.
Kut From the Kloth – Michael Faux Leather Jacket $78
The color is nice, but I already have a ton of faux leather jackets in a bunch of colors. Also the arms are really loose and long on this one and my husband said it looked to big on me. I’m undecided only because this is the ONLY item I’d even consider keeping and if I don’t keep anything I’m out $20 just for the privilege of trying on a bunch of stuff that doesn’t work for me.
Undecided.
RD Style – Laverne Poncho Cardigan $68

I don’t recall asking for a blanket, nor does this look like anything on my pinterest page. I posted a bunch of cute fitted fall outfits and she sends me a blanket with arm holes?? The fabric is scratchy and I look like I am a giant old lady. This would never in a million years work with my shape. Honestly, the worst thing they’ve ever sent me.
RETURNED.
Overall Impressions
Overall I think this was a bad fix. I didn’t get the skinny jeans I requested, there was only one dress, no skirts, and a serious lack of color aside from the wearable blanket. I think Lindsay did a pretty good job as my stylist, but I kept requesting her later and they kept telling me she was on vacation and this stylist definitely does not get me. I guess I’m done with Stitch Fix again.
Bummer! I gave up on Stitch Fix a few months ago – got super tired of never feeling listened to. I had some luck with ModaBox, though!
Sorry to hear that your latest Stitch Fix didn’t work out! I’ve definitely had that happen repeatedly too!
I have only had two fixes, and basically had the same experience. The first fix, I could tell my stylist tried (and actually looked at my pinterest board), but everything was ill fitting and drab. The second (and last, I might add), was the complete opposite of everything I requested. I tried to leave very specific notes and made sure to really work on my style board, but everything was awful. Except for the handbag, which I kept because I didn’t want to flush another $20 down the toilet. I’ve seen some bloggers get amazing fixes, so I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Sadly, my patience is up, so I won’t be giving them a third try. I think it really depends on your stylist and how much time she’s allowed to work on your fix.
I’ve had…decent luck with Stitch Fix. I just learned about Trendsend – maybe give that a try?
I’ve been struggling with my fixes, too. I’m trying to figure out how to get better matched. However, from my perspective (not looking at your pinterest board), I think the stylist tried. You specifically stated grey, green, plum, and mustard, and every single piece was one of these colors. You also said you liked dresses or skirts, and you got a dress, in a plum color. I’m just wondering if I’m not doing the same thing to myself. Maybe try to be more specific in requests and really edit what we say. If you don’t want drab colors, leave out grey or olive. Hmm, I’m clueless, just also frustrated with what I’m getting in my boxes and not feeling heard, and trying to offer you a different perspective, too. I’m going back to my comments now to review.
Oh, I forgot, you also asked for a cozy sweater – what’s cozier than a blanket! Love/hate it.
I liked the 1st sweater and the jacket but understand your disappointment in not getting what you requested. I have had that issue a lot with my Fixes so I have found it is easier sometimes to say what i don’t want rather than what I do. For instance, I am with you on the whole poncho thing – who wants to wear a giant blanket around but I got one in my last Fix too. NO, THANK YOU. My next one doesn’t come until October 9th so fingers crossed they do a better job this time!
I was seriously disappointed with my last fix as well after giving very specific feedback. I gave them terrible feedback about the fix and no one responded to it. I’m trying it one final month and sent them another email to ensure my feedback is being heard. If it doesn’t work out, I will be ended my membership as well.
